Honestly the vast majority of PUGs I've monked with have been a competent, sticking-together bunch. Often when one tense person starts ragging on me the others tell him to shut up and tell me I'm doing fine - which I already know, but the recognition feels nice.
Having monk as my favorite, most-experienced class makes it a little hard to play other classes though. I see a healer using skills I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole and have to work hard to keep my mouth shut.

I try to remember the times when I was a little newbie but there are days I've just had enough and I sorta vent on the other monk. Sorry! ^^
Oh my word, and about groups thinking a monk is guaranteed invincibility--I had a perfect example of that today.
Well I was PvPing in the Random Arenas and I got into a group with this one warrior.
Well the first thing he does is rush right into the group while I spam like crazy after him. While he's doing that, the tank from the other group comes up to me and hacks away. I die instantly on the spot (should have gone protect <<) and he's like, "Monk why did you die?" I was like, "A tank was on me." He was like, "So. You should be able to handle that."
So basically he was telling me I could heal them and spam on myself to stay alive. Thanks for the compliment but pfffft! xP

One of the worst Monks I ever had the pleasure of playing with had the following skills (one of the Maguuma missions)... Mending (for himself), Heal AREA (for the Warriors... eesh), and Healing Breeze. That was it. He let some degen to death, ran up to Heal Area and healed the enemies... probably was just messing with us.
The funniest moment was in Vizunah, and the Canthans were complaining their Monk sucked. "No, I really am healing!"... next spell? Conjure Phantasm. They had Heaven's Delight, Heal Other, Prot Spirit, Conjure Phantasm, Healing Breeze... just random crap.
I really don't like Monking in PvP anymore because a few times recently me and the other Monk were blamed for a couple GvG losses. Not that I was a great infuser, but losing is a team effort, and the warriors were definitely garbage (sat on the Monks, wouldn't fall back until they were all by themselves), etc. Hearing "well if we had our core Monks we would've been fine" made me mad. >

Oh so true, If I monk in a competent PvP team at least they bother to keep pressure of me and they bother to stay in healing range. Most people see enemy monks and barge in like a bull on steroids. What happens behind them is completely irrelevant to them. Monk stomp sucks!
Also fun is doing PvE missions with another monk doing absolutely nothing. He keeps on babbling about how maintaining mending on the entire party rocks and how peace and harmony rules. For the entire mission I had to hear how good our other monk was while I did all the work. I didn't even bother to flame him and healing an entire party in a tough mission all by myself was actually great kicks, but MAN what a moron :P. At least a real noob knows that he's a noob...

I think it's sort of funny how the most helpful support classes *cough* Monk *cough* Mesmer *cough cough* are often the least appreciated.
I've been in many groups where the other monk takes all the credit and / or the warrior spams the /flex emote, saying how he "pwns." Oh well. There are those nice occasions where you get nice, mature groups but I guess just knowing I did my job in keeping my party alive is good enough.

Winning is also a team effort and if your team is relying solely on their monks, you know there is a problem. Want me to go slap them for you? :P

dont mind that. monking in PVP can be great fun. as you said, its a teamgame, its not entirely your fault of course. i think if you would have explained them why you couldnt monk properly they would have apologized.
but on the other side, if you happen to get a nice team and can monk fine - receiving compliments ftw.
just keep in mind that sometimes it indeed is the monks fault (even if you were the monk), in which case you should tell the others and apologize as well. then youll have a nice "teambase" and youll enjoy monking in PVP a lot more. *hates monking in HA for the very same reasons :>, hardly ever find groups that you can play good with so i can monk and enjoy it! else its just "noob infuser, omg noob prot" etc..*
for myself, dunno, ive had many experiences, especially bad ones with monks - resulted in me always watching them whenever i could to see if they were doing fine. (especially TA). dont really wanna list all of the pve experiences.
i never really have problems, because i only play with guildies, friends, or heroes anymore, which dont blame me for crap, so my monking experiences are usually not bad. except a few days ago when i raged my ta team because i didnt draw blind and the assasin on vent felt like spamming me with noob (hes a friend <3) and i had quite a pain in my left ear (with headsets on full volume) which hurt me so much that i had to rage. <3 besides that, havnt had problems in ages. :P

That people even bother about morons when there's a F12 button at their disposal... It's not that we need blatant morons with so many nice people to play with. I wouldn't let stuff like that get to me in the first place. My bad experiences are very limited anyway, and if not, I limit them myself (how hard can it be to ignore total strangers, I do it everyday).
